A week at Boulder Gardens

Additionally we hope you join us on there to catch up with what we are doing in the shop !Have you checked out our Facebook page? Every Tuesday we do plant tip Tuesday, where you can find all the most frequently asked questions and unique plant articles on how to care for your new green friend!

This week the shop has been busy prepping for Octobers events, doing a photo shoot and building a new display for cards and small plants !

Events in the florist world require two weeks minimum to prep for. We first must gather the table count, theme and budget. Once everything is confirmed and client/florist relation is on good terms, we place our order for flowers. Then, we must place an order for glassware if needed. Lastly, we assembly line design! This keeps the process smooth and uniform. Sometimes, our events are done by one single designer! Boulder Garden’s own head designer Mary Beth did an outstanding job on 94 arrangements this week to go to a fundraising lunch-on here in town! Check out her beautiful on facebook !

The seasons change here in Colorado four times! That means we must update our flower availability and designs based on the season. At Boulder Gardens we flip our website twice to three times a year. We last did a photo shoot in April for our spring and summer arrangements. This week we gathered new retail items we are selling, plants and arrangements to update our site for fall/winter!

We all enjoy Pinterest here at Boulder Gardens! Sometimes our Pinterest attempts to craft or re-create things fail. Other times we have great success. This week Erin, our admin/designer decided to build us a new card display! Using the palette our pots came on last week, she built a up-cycled shelving unit! She recommends if you are working with palette ideas for flowers or home garden purposes to coat it in paint that is water resistant. She also recommends drilling small holes in it prior to nails or screws so the wood does not split as she found palettes to be  delicate from wear and tear.

As the weekend approaches we will be placing our new shipment of plants around the store and unloading Halloween decorations!

If you are in Boulder and looking for plants, cards or would like to talk holiday party options we are open 8-6pm Monday-Friday and 8-4pm Saturdays!
